Prepare your body for your workout as you improve balance and functional movement.
“HIIT” is the state-of-the-art in fitness. Improve your strength, cardio, and endurance.
The reason this type of HIIT workout works so well is because of the work-to-rest ratio. You only get 10 seconds of rest between each 20-second bout of exercise. That very short interval isn't enough to allow you to fully recover, which is one reason it's great for building endurance and getting you in shape.
Workouts finish with proper warm-down, guided post-workout stretching, yoga, and meditation. This closing segment will have you feeling relaxed and helps you kick-off the recovery process.
All of the workouts are fully-coached. Each athlete will receive personalized attention and real-time feed-back on their form and technique.
Weigh-in, collect body measurements, and take the fitness assessment tests (V-ups, push-ups, squats) so that you can track your progress and see real results. Fitness assessment tests are included at the first Monday workout of every month.
When you exercise outside, you will always get a better workout, some fresh air, and get the opportunity to do some bonding with nature. Outdoor exercise is also known to help with depression, anxiety, and mental wellness.
Establish new workout partners and enjoy the motivation of exercising with a group. And, working out with a others is always more fun than doing it alone.
Run Club is designed for anyone wanting to learn how to run better This Club will foster Sacramento local/McKinley Park runners and walkers to meet up, workout together, and learn the elements efficient running. This program follows an annual periodized training plan and we meet every Wednesday 6p-7p.
Each athlete will receive personalized run coaching at every workout. You will get real-time feed-back on your form, technique, symmetry, stride length/rate, pacing, and more! This is like hiring a run coach at a fraction of the cost.
This type of warm-up is what most professional athletes are doing before beginning their workout. Proper warm-up and stretching will improve performance and reduce your risk for injury.
The run stride is broken into its components with various drills; we call these the A-B-C’s of running. Improved muscle recruitment and coordination will lead to running faster and more efficiently.
Build your lateral strength/stability, add horse-power, and increase endurance. These drills will not only make your run “stronger” but, they will also help you reduce your risk for getting a running related injury.
Each week a specific run lesson plan will be prepared and presented. Having a “run strategy” will get you more out of every run workout; no more “junk miles”! Features will include pace running, heart-rate zone running, intervals, steady-state, recovery, and more.
Beginner (walk/run), intermediate (run/walk), and advanced (run only) run lesson plans will be offered at each workout to accommodate all levels of walkers and runners. Running with a group will give you the chance to meet new running partners and push yourself.
